Shanklin & Sandown Rowing Club

Shanklin Sandown RC, founded in 1875, provides both recreational and competitive rowing opportunities for people of all ages and experience and welcomes newcomers all year-round.

Situated on the beach in the resort of Shanklin, rowing is available at all stages of the tide, and we have a large boat house and gym with rowing ergo machines and weights.

Primarily a coastal rowing club, we have an extensive fleet of fine river boats which we use on the River Medina, and last year we became a Coastal Rowing Academy and have two Fisa Coastal single sculls.

We have a strong Junior section, and several of these members have gone on to compete for Great Britain, England and Wales.

Adults have both recreational and competitive opportunities, and we have regular social events in our club lounge which includes a bar.
